Technically speaking, here are the details for Fijit Friends:
- Can identify approx. 30 phrases
- Has more than 150 built-in phrases and jokes
- Recognizes and dances to external music
- Identifies music beat and adjusts dance timing
- Features voice recognition, and includes their own original songs
Those are all impressive capabilities, but the really important ones are what the girls see:
- They talk back with phrases that make sense with what the kids say
- They give compliments and tell jokes – what little girl doesn’t like a cool friend that says nice things to them, and makes them laugh.
- They can dance and bounce right along with their best girl friends.
And they have one more special interactive feature – they recognize sonic chirps, – little sound cues that Mattel embeds in codes coming from an external sound source, which will trigger a response, like the iPad app demo in the video. This code could be added to webisodes, commercials, TV shows, DVDs and more to make her Fijit Friend even more interactive with the things they can do together.
